McIntyres Salons Infrared Heating, Dundee
Three times Scottish Hairdresser of the Year McIntyres, have 2 modern salons in Dundee with an emphasis on customer care and comfort. We were asked to recommend a more efficient way to heat the salons and control the thermal comfort of an environment which can fluctuate from cold to hot when multiple hairdryers are in use.
Assessment & Recommendation
The main objectives were to provide an energy efficient heating system that would compliment the aesthetics of the salons. A fully programmable and thermostatically controlled system was equally important to ensure McIntyres clients felt comfortable whilst being pampered.
Recommended measures
- 3 No. Largewave R600 smooth white glass heating panels - mounted on the bulkhead above the hair stations.
- Redwell WE1400 "Private Print" panels showcasing Kay McIntyres portfolio.
- Redwell WE910 ceiling mounted panel, maintaining valuable retail space in the reception area.
- Salus wireless programmable heating controls - allowing for areas to be zoned for optimum control and efficiency.
Installation
Installation was co-ordinated to ensure minimum disruption to the busy salons. GoSustainable fully installed and commissioned the Redwell system over 2 days whilst the salons were closed.
Results Summary
The salon staff are delighted with the level of comfort and control the new heating system has delivered in both premises.
The high impact picture heating panels have become a real talking point with clients.
The floor and wall space previously taken up with conventional radiators has been freed up for retail display.
